Changing your Smart Device It is important that before you switch to a new device (smartphone) that you disable two-factor authentication to then re-enable it using the new device. If you have already discarded, lost or broken your previous device, and Xero prompts you to enter a code, you will need to use one of the two alternate authentication methods (security questions or backup email) to log in and disable 2FA so that it is no longer locked in your previous device. After you disabled two-factor authentication locked in your previous device, you will then need to re-enable it using your new device either using one of the Authenticator Apps or the Xero Verify App.
