Once a User's Microsoft Team's license has been removed from the User in the MS 365 Admin Centre, such User will no longer have access to Microsoft Teams. Furthermore, if the User has also been removed from all groups, it will also be removed from all Teams and Channels.

The final step is to remove the User from Contact Groups (including Favourites), Group Chats and unpin the User's Chat History from the Chat Panel.
Note: this final step must be done by each individual team member.

Remove a User from a Contact Group

  1. From Chat Panel, click on the drop-down box and go to the Contacts Panel

    è  The Microsoft Teams app

è  The Contacts List is displayed with the different Contact Groups

  2. To remove the Contact from the Favorites and all other groups click on the ellipses icon next to their name and select Remove from this group

Remove a User from a Group Chat

  1. From the Chat Panel, click on the Group Chat

è  The Microsoft Teams Group Chat

  2. Click on the Participants icon  on the top right-hand side of the screen

è  The list of the team members linked to this chat will display

  3. Hover the mouse on the Team Member you want to remove and click on the grey cross

è  The team member is removed from the Chat Group

Unpin a User Chat from the Chat History

Even if a user has been deleted from the MS 365 Admin Centre, the Chat History linked to such user pinned to the Chat Taskbar is not automatically removed. This needs to be unpinned manually.

  1. From the Chat Panel, hover the mouse on the Team Member

è  The Microsoft Teams Chat Panel

  2. Click on the ellipses icon next to their name and select Unpin

è  The team member is removed from the Chat Panel
