The Building and Construction Industry Long Service Payments Act 1986 (the Act) requires employers to add any new eligible workers within 7 days of their employment start date. Employers must also keep their workers' information up to date in the portal and terminate workers who have left their employment during the Financial Year. Eligible workers only include those workers who perform building and construction work on-site
Add New Workers
Update Workers' Details or Terminate Workers Employers are required to maintain workers' information up to date in the Long Service Leave portal. This means that during the Financial Year, before the next Employer Annual Declaration is due, employers are required to update workers' details, including their new address and contact details, and even change of work type (when applicable). Finally, all workers who leave their employment must be terminated in the Long Service Leave portal during the Financial Year.
