How to export contacts as a csv file [xero]

Xero provides you with the ability to export contact details to CSV files.

You can export all your Contacts or just your Customers or Suppliers with one mouse click. Alternatively, if you wish to export a more defined list of Customers or Suppliers, you can use Smart Lists to filter your Export options. 

With Smart Lists you can add the following filters to your Exporting options:

  • Purchased Items within a set Date/Period
  • Non-Purchased Items within a set Date/Period
  • Invoice Outstanding/Paid/Overdue for a set amount within a set Date/Period
  • Non-Invoiced within a set Date/Period
  • Payments received within a set Date/Period
  • Contact Group
  • Tracking Category

 

Export your Contacts

  1. Go to Contacts > All Contacts
  2. Select either the Customers or Suppliers Tab 

    è  The Contacts screen opens



  3. Click on [Export]

    è  The Contacts list is exported to CSV and saved to your Download folder

How to export Contacts using Smart Lists

  1. Go to Contacts > All Contacts
  2. Select either the Customers or Suppliers Tab 

    è  The Contacts screen opens



  3. Click on New next to Smart Lists

    è  The New Smart List screen opens



  4. Click on Add a condition
  5. Select the Filter option(s) from the list
  6. Once you have set the different filter options, click on [Run Search]

  7. You can then select all Contacts or specific ones
  8. Click on Export > CSV 
    Note: if you have a Constant Contact Account integrated with Xero you can export the list directly into Constant Contact)

    è  The Contacts list is exported to CSV and saved to your Download folder
