From the 1st November 2021 Employers are required to make a Stapled Superannuation request to the Australian Taxation Office every time a new employee fails to make a Superannuation Choice within the required deadline. The request can be made directly by the Employer through Online Services for Agents or through their Registered Tax Agents through Online Services for Agents. The Stapled Request will only work after an electronic copy of the Tax File Declaration has been lodged to the ATO or after the first Single Touch Payroll event has been successfully submitted to the ATO linking the new Employee to the Organisation. Tax Agents must obtain a signed declaration from their Clients prior to making such a request on their behalf. Make a Stapled Super Request
